The City of Mahtomedi is very concerned about the environment. The city has a very extensive recycling, compost and green program in effect for all citizens. Curbside recycling is done by single-sort for residents. Pick up days are scheduled every other week on the Monday of your collection week and should be placed by the curb by 7:00a.m. The convenience of single-sort recycling containers lets you put everything recyclable in one container rather than sorting them in separate bags. Other items you can recycle include electronics, household hazardous waste and tires. Refuse collection in the city is open-hauling, meaning you can choose any hauler you want. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Mahtomedi offers residents many beautiful parks, trail systems and recreation facilities. There are six parks in the city including the popular Katherine Abbot Park, consisting of 76 acres in the south central location of the city. If you are looking for a scenic trail, the Streetcar Trail located along White Bear Lake is a popular choice. No matter what you needs may be, the Mahtomedi City Hall wants to be of service. Located at 600 Stillwater Road, City Hall is the main source of all licensing needs. Licenses available at City Hall include building permits for residents and businesses, development application, dog license, home occupation application, mechanical permits and plumbing permits.
